No Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday for 2008

Monday August 4, 2008
It seems like everyone is cutting back this year - including the State of Florida. For the past decade the state has offered a 7 to 10 day sales tax holiday on back to school merchandise. This year's budget cuts eliminated both the August Back-to-School and the June hurricane sales tax holidays.

Looking for ways to save? Check out area malls for upcoming sales and specials.

Did the elimination of the Sales Tax Holiday change how or where you purchased back-to-school items? Post your comments below.

With all the high prices out there - the year Florida needs a tax free school shopping week and our government once again lets the citizens down. If I could I would fire every one of you and that includes all government. YOU PEOPLE are supposed to work for us - or did you forget that? At this time in history the only words I can come up with for our government is “disgusting and shameful”. Sincerely, Sherri Hollinshead
